I’m thankful for the pets that have been in my life… Except for college, I don’t remember a time where I didn’t have an animal in my life. LuLu the basset hound, Mokey the peek-a-poo, Maggie the collie, Pebbles the sheltie-poo, Purdy the beagle fox-hound, Bandit & Rascal the peek-a poo brothers. People can learn a lot from animals…pets are one of the best examples I know of unconditional love. The world would be a much better place if people acted like dogs and cats.
I’m thankful for the ability to read… I give credit to my mother for teaching me the importance of reading. As a child I remember bookcases filled with books from estate sales... old encyclopedias, history books, art books, craft books, travel books. My mother belonged to a book-of-the- month club and she made sure I had my own library card as soon as I was old enough. If you can read you can learn—knowledge is power. If you can learn, you can succeed. Not in a million years

No matter how crazy politics can get in the U.S., I’m thankful I live in the United States of America. It’s a beautiful country with diverse people where dreams can still come true for those who work hard. Each generation puts their own stamp on this country, making it one of the most unique, desirable places to live in the entire world. I’m privileged to call myself an American Citizen.
